Who can apply to study in China?

Anyone with a high school diploma or higher qualification can apply. Most universities accept international students between ages 17–35.

Do I need to speak Chinese to apply?

Not necessarily. Many programs are fully taught in English. However, learning some Chinese will make your daily life easier.

When should I start applying?

Applications usually open in January and close by June for the September intake. Early applications have a higher acceptance rate.

 

Can I apply to more than one university?

Yes, you can apply to multiple universities at once through Next Stop Abroad. We’ll help you manage your offers and choose the best one.

What documents do I need?
  • Passport copy

  • Graduation certificate & transcripts

  • Medical report

  • Recommendation letter

  • English or Chinese proficiency proof

  • Passport-sized photo

Do I need IELTS or HSK?

Not always. Some universities offer English-taught programs that accept alternatives like a letter from your previous English-medium institution.

How much does it cost to study in China?

Tuition fees range from $2,000–$6,000 per year, depending on the program and university. Living costs are about $300–$500/month.

 

Are there scholarships?

Yes! You can apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC), university scholarships, and others. We guide you through each one.
